Interpretive

4. At first, I believed that a topic related to real estate would be the easiest because I knew someone in the industry and had a quick way of earning hours. I discovered that although it was indeed an easy topic, I would not enjoy as much as i would have liked.

Applied

5. Very late in the game, I decided to change my topic.  I had a friend who was a psychology major encourage me to sit in her Intro psychology honors class and see if I liked the topic. I fell in love. I decided that would want my topic to be criminal psychology. The next challenge was to find a mentor. I notified my aunt in the LAPD and she was able to refer me to several psychologist working with the city, but almost all of them were extremely busy when i had called. I had emailed Mr. Purther regarding my change in topic thinking that I would be able to get a mentor, but I have not been able to. My aunt was able to arrange for me to meet professionals in the field, but not until the week after school starts. I believe I can get a mentor within the next two weeks and understand this is not what was asked. But I am very committed to pursing my topic of Criminal Psychology.
